Technology

Zion Wayside Lutheran School strives to keep our educational tools and techniques current with technological advances in the education system. We are continually expanding the number of iPads, Kindles, and Chromebooks available to our students. These devices have allowed us to quickly access a ton of new resources, including Google Classroom, a great organization tool for students and teachers.

These devices also provide many helpful resources, including the chance for students to use digital flash cards and access additional material for our Science classes.

Furthermore, we have installed a digital library that allows students to check out books more efficiently. With this system, parents are able to digitally view available books as well. We hope to have eBooks as part of our library in the future.

Wayside loves to explore the gifts of technology that the Lord has blessed us with in a safe and responsible way.

Our second grade computer class love to use the school iPads to explore their digital citizenship iBook.  iBooks contain interactive links to movies, vocabulary definitions, and electronic worksheets and quizzes.

Jordan Dombrowicki and Harley Beyer are holding two of the twenty Kindles that are available for students.  Across all reading levels, Kindles can help meet the individual needs of students with adjustable fonts, line spacing, text-to-speech, built-in reference and dictionary.

Each student, in grades 5-8, have access to a Chromebook to collaborate on assignments, access web content that is linked to the school's curriculums, and receive and post assignments through Google Classroom.  (Left to Right) Nicholas Hansen, Mitchell Coenen and Makayla Loppnow are using their Chromebooks in Mrs. Jen Hoelzel's Science class.
